When it comes to long lived science fiction series, it is hard to beat the one that first appeared on TV sets in the United States in that fateful year of 1969. Generations of sci-fi fans would come to see Star Trek as the biggest and best series in the world for those who love their dose of space age journeying. After all, Gene Roddenberry’s fabled “wagon train to the stars” concept has found a real place in the hearts of not only Americans, but all people of all races, creeds and countries around the entire world. It’s clear to see that Star Trek has conquered the world when it comes to giving us excellent entertainment. With that in mind, could this movie really make it worth it for fans of the series that needed a dose of their favorite characters, but due to age constraints, would only be able to have this with different actors?
It looks to me like they’ve done an excellent job at keeping the creative beat of the original series and plenty of its different incarnations in fine shape with this latest movie and owning it on DVD, Blu-Ray or the digital format is certainly a great deal. There’s so much to admire with this latest movie that it’s easy to see its potential to turn a whole new crop of fans into the diehard crew that currently keeps this entertainment property in its traditional cult status. While upgrading the pizzazz factor to work with a modern audience, this new Star Trek movie really gives a lot of soul and authenticity to the original story. There’s plenty to love in terms of acting as well as story line, not to mention really mind expanding special effects that set the stage perfectly.
